I just thought that I would have a play around with trying to put some of my own music onto UT2004 instead of the original music as I usually wear headphones whilst playing on it.
I dont know if there are many people out there who have done or tried this but I just gave it a shot and it worked
Anyway getting to the point, the format that the UT2004 sound files are in is .ogg (i dont have a clue what kind of format this is) anyway, i went onto google and searched for "mp3 to ogg" and I found a site that had a converter for it so I downloaded and installed it, only a trial version but 1.6mb so its hardly a long wait. anyway, i then converted a couple of songs just to test it out, i then found some of the names for the maps that I play on the most and found then in the music file in the UT2004 file. I moved them to the desktop incase everything went to hell so that I could just drag them back in and they would overwrite the files that I had changed. All I had to do was change the name of the .ogg files that I had created from some of my own music to match the name of the original UT2004 music file, for example "KR-UT2004-Menu.ogg" or "KR-Corrugation-Rise.ogg" and then place them in the music folder and hey presto, I had system of a down playing on the menus, and cannibal corpse playing whilst running around obliterating everything and everyone. Give it a try, it should work with UT2003 aswell. Just make sure to make a folder with copies of the original music files in just in case. well have fun
*starts converting*
